Core English Skills

1. Conversation Fluency: speak more naturally and confidently through conversation practice, spontaneous communication, discussion, pronunciation and listening.

2. Grammar: accuracy and control through work on sentence structure, verb forms, complex grammar and the practical use of English.

3. Vocabulary: a wider and more useful vocabulary, including collocations, word formation, phrasal verbs, academic language and professional terminology.

4. Pronunciation: clarity and intelligibility through work on sounds, word stress, sentence stress, rhythm, intonation and connected speech.

5. Listening: the ability to understand natural spoken English, follow discussions and identify key information, detail, meaning and attitude.

Academic English Skills

1. Academic Reading: the skills needed to understand and analyse academic texts, including identifying arguments, evaluating evidence, recognising structure and interpreting meaning.

2. Academic Writing: clear and effective academic writing, with a focus on structure, coherence, academic vocabulary, argumentation, sources, paraphrasing and editing.

3. Academic Speaking & Presentations: the skills needed for seminars, presentations and academic discussion, including explaining ideas, expressing opinions, answering questions and presenting information clearly.

Professional English Skills

1. Professional Communication: effective communication for meetings, discussions, workplace interaction and international professional situations.

2. Business Writing & Communication: clear and appropriate writing for emails, reports, proposals, presentations and other professional communication.

A Personalised Learning Pathway

English Skills Focus does not follow a fixed syllabus. Each programme is built around the learner.

1. Identify: We identify the skills the learner wants to improve and the areas that require the most attention.

2. Focus: We select one skill or combine several according to the learner’s goals and priorities.

3. Develop: Lessons provide targeted language development, guided practice and meaningful opportunities to use the skill.

4. Apply: Learners use their developing skills in practical, realistic and increasingly independent situations.

5. Review: Progress is reviewed regularly and the focus is adjusted as the learner’s needs change.

Approach to Textbooks

Textbooks reflect the professional discourse and standards of English language education. Think English Club therefore aligns with recognised school curricula and the content learners are expected to encounter. At the same time, the focus is on developing skills, not completing a particular textbook.

Different books serve different purposes: some develop everyday communication, others support examination preparation, while others focus more deeply on specific skills such as speaking, writing, critical thinking or academic English.

Because the Club is independent of publishing companies, it is not tied to a particular series or influenced by commercial campaigns. This allows the textbook landscape to be evaluated independently and materials to be selected according to what best serves learners.

Parents and learners should know which materials they will use, so the Club continuously reviews, evaluates and improves its textbook portfolio (Last Updated: September 2026).
